Crosland Southeast's Commonwealth development in Charlotte's Plaza Midwood neighborhood has been named Top Mixed-Use Development at the Charlotte Business Journal's 2026 Heavy Hitters Commercial Real Estate Awards.

Developed in partnership with Nuveen Real Estate, Commonwealth has transformed a former surface parking lot into a vibrant, walkable destination that brings together residential, office, retail and community spaces in the heart of Plaza Midwood.

The 12-acre development combines new construction with the preservation and adaptive reuse of historic buildings, creating a walkable destination that reflects the character of Plaza Midwood. Its first phase includes 383 luxury apartments, a 140,000-square-foot office building serving as Scout Motors' headquarters, and approximately 100,000 square feet of experiential retail and restaurants.
